Cyclo-Biblio – Putting People at the Heart of Libraries

Teachers often have a strong taste for public service, transmission, exchange, sharing, travel and people, whoever they are.

The great asset of a library lies in its capacity to mix users, notably through its workshops such as the discussion sessions in French as a foreign language, where individuals from all countries, all ages and all social backgrounds rub shoulders.

During the two-wheeled library journey that is Cycling for Libraries, it will be a delight to discover new libraries and to exchange with the people there, to learn more about their practices, their experiences.

It would especially be enjoyable to try to understand how these libraries can operate as cultural and social places of life, nourishing the social link and the opening to the other.

It is important to fully fulfil the library’s mission of social cohesion by uniting users in their great diversity around rich, varied and colourful collections, mediation activities and participatory actions, in their image.

Cycling for Libraries aims to help participants to get to know better the human dynamics that irrigate the life of their establishments in all its forms, to reflect with them on how projects can be more humanly based and make us want to live better together, to take pleasure in being with others and to consider difference as a richness.

The bicycle helps all of this happen.
