Summary of Cycling for Libraries Canadian edition:
Since 2011, library lovers from around the world have been cycling through various countries advocating for libraries, meeting new people, and learning about libraries. This year Canada is proud to host this event. You’re interested now, aren’t you, eh?
WHAT TO EXPECT
5 days of cycling
We will be cycling through beautiful Southern Ontario. The most we will cycle in one day is around 100 km. Average cycling speed is about 12 – 13 km and hour. This is not a race. We go as fast as the slowest person.
From cosmopolitan Toronto we will transit to beautiful Niagara Falls. We will then cycle by the shores of Lake Ontario and the Niagara vineyards to Hamilton. From there we will head south to visit the Six Nations Reserve and historic Brantford on the Grand River. We will finish our tour cycling along the north shore of Lake Ontario to head back to Toronto.
Visiting a library and talking to staff on site is so much more effective and rewarding than watching a powerpoint presentation.
Accommodation, breakfast, and lunch are included in the registration price.
