Bikesy's Verdict
The Deluxe Pro suits you if one assisted bike needs to cover the commute and loaded leisure rides, and you want a clean belt with stepless gears you set yourself. Bosch CX assistance, a PowerTube 800 you can charge indoors, and lights, mudguards, a lock and carrier already fitted are what make it ready to own. Choose Classic, Trapeze or Easy Entry for how you get on, noting the sizes differ at both ends of the range. The recommendation changes if you need to tow, because Cube's 2027 table gives no trailer allowance, or if you must often lift the bike: 29.9 kg for the medium Classic reference with accessories, and 31.9 kg claimed for the Easy Entry. Within those limits, it is a thoroughly equipped tourer worth owning.
Pros
- Gates belt and enclosed Enviolo hub keep chain oil off the drivetrain
- Stepless 380% hub gearing, set with a twist shifter while you pedal
- PowerTube 800 battery charges in the frame or indoors
- Carrier, lights, mudguards, kickstand, bell and keyed-alike lock are fitted
- 100 mm air fork, with Classic, Trapeze and step-through Easy Entry frames
Cons
- No trailer allowance in Cube's 2027 load table
- Heavy to lift and store: 29.9 kg for the medium Classic reference with accessories and as the Trapeze claim, 31.9 kg claimed for the Easy Entry, none of them an all-size weight
- UK height bands overlap, and the guide publishes no inseam range
If the week is a commute and the weekend might be a loaded ride out of town, this is a bike that makes that combination straightforward. The Kathmandu Hybrid Deluxe Pro is an aluminium tourer with Bosch assistance, a belt and stepless hub gears you shift yourself, and the carrying kit already on the bike. On the current UK model, the Deluxe Pro 800, that 800 is the battery capacity. What you actually choose is the frame: a high-top-tube Classic, a lower Trapeze, or a step-through Easy Entry.
Ready for the commute and a longer ride
It is meant for commuting, leisure riding and equipped touring, the sort of use where assistance, a stable load and some weather protection earn their keep. All three frames share an aluminium Superlite chassis with Efficient Comfort Geometry, a fully integrated battery and internal cable routing. The SR Suntour NVX-32 LO Air fork brings 100 mm of travel, and an adjustable CUBE Comfort Stem Pro with an SR Suntour NVX seatpost gives you room to settle your position once the size is right.
The useful kit is already fitted, so the bike can go into service without a separate list of extras. You get an ACID Integrated Carrier 3.0 CSR, front and rear lights, mudguards, a kickstand, a bell and a keyed-alike frame lock. The carrier has a CUBE-adapter-compatible mount, so a suitable bag or basket can be added later. That luggage is an upgrade, and it is not part of the bike as supplied. Schwalbe Marathon Efficiency tyres, 55-622, suit regular miles in ordinary weather, and Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic discs with 180 mm rotors front and rear are a sensible brake when the carrier is loaded.
The 2027 carrying limits are part of the decision. Maximum rider weight, including worn equipment, is 120 kg. The carrier maximum is 27 kg, and the maximum system weight is 150 kg. Cube's model-year load table shows no trailer allowance, so towing sits outside what this bike is rated to do.
A belt and a hub you shift yourself
This is the build for riders who want low-mess gearing and a wide spread of ratios they control. A Gates CDX belt runs to an enclosed, manually operated Enviolo Trekking hub with a 380% range. The hub is stepless, and the Enviolo MC-TWIST shifter lets you ease the ratio to suit your cadence, including while you are already pedalling. Belt and enclosed hub keep chain oil off the drivetrain, which earns its place on a bike that sees wet roads and then comes indoors.
The ratio stays in your hands. Riders who want the hub to shift itself have a nearby belt-drive Kathmandu in the Deluxe EXC 800, with automatic Enviolo Trekking Automatiq. A Comfort Pro name in some Deluxe Pro description text does not change this model. It remains the manual-shift Deluxe Pro 800.
Assistance, and charging that fits the house
Every frame uses a Bosch Performance Line CX motor, the BDU38, with an LED Remote and a Kiox 500 display. The battery is a Bosch PowerTube 800, and a Bosch 2A charger is supplied. You can charge with the battery in the frame, or take it indoors when there is no socket where the bike lives. That second option is what makes a flat, a shared hallway or a shed straightforward.
The 800 is the battery's capacity in watt-hours: energy on board, with the distance you cover depending on assistance, load, terrain and how you ride. On the Trapeze and Easy Entry, the specification tables state a maximum motor rating of 90 Nm and an ACID MTB Hybrid Pro 50T crankset. Official Classic component records disagree on maximum motor torque and chainring size, so there is no single torque or chainring figure for every Classic offer.
Classic, Trapeze or Easy Entry
Each frame has the same official UK list price of £3,499. Selling prices can sit away from that list figure, and the frame is what should decide the bike. The Classic keeps a high top tube and comes in 50, 54, 58 and 62 cm. The Trapeze uses a lower top tube, in 46, 50, 54 and 58 cm. The Easy Entry is the step-through, in 46, 50, 54, 58 and 62 cm. A different colour is a finish on the frame you have chosen, and it is the same build.
The published UK height guide is approximate and height-only, with overlapping bands and no inseam figures. It can narrow a size, and the published reach and stack are the useful comparison when two sizes both look possible. The ranges themselves differ at the ends. Only the Trapeze and Easy Entry offer 46 cm. Only the Classic and Easy Entry offer 62 cm, the size that guide associates with riders of 6'3" and above. The Trapeze stops at 58 cm.
Published Easy Entry geometry shows a shorter reach and a taller stack than the Classic sizes, which is the shape you are choosing with the step-through. Crank length follows the frame too: 170 mm in every listed Easy Entry size, and 175 mm in the Classic and Trapeze tables.
It is a substantial bike to lift onto a car rack or carry up steps. Cube's 2027 load table gives 29.9 kg for a medium Classic frame with the accessories attached. Cube claims 29.9 kg for the Trapeze and 31.9 kg for the Easy Entry. None of these figures is stated for every size.
Cube states a two-year warranty on the bike and a six-year guarantee on the aluminium frame, under its stated conditions, with Bosch drive-system cover kept separate. Match the frame to the way you get on and off, and you have a bike you can leave equipped for the working week and still take away when the ride gets longer.
Key Features & Benefits
- Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic discs, 180 mm rotors: A hydraulic disc at each wheel for braking with luggage on a heavy bike
- Two-year bike warranty and six-year frame guarantee: Cube's stated cover for the bike and aluminium frame, with Bosch drive terms kept separate

Alternatives to Consider
The Cube Kathmandu Hybrid Deluxe EXC 800 is the nearby belt-drive Kathmandu for riders who want automatic Enviolo Trekking Automatiq shifting. The Deluxe Pro 800 keeps the shifting manual, with an Enviolo MC-TWIST shifter on its Enviolo Trekking hub.
