Cube Aruba Hybrid

The Cube Aruba Hybrid is a retro-styled, fully equipped step-through e-bike for comfortable assisted city riding, commuting and everyday errands.

  • Easy Entry step-through: Mount easily in ordinary clothes and sit upright for town traffic.
  • Bosch Performance Line, 75 Nm: Help away from the lights and on the rises, including with a loaded carrier.
  • 600 Wh PowerTube battery: Integrated battery capacity for regular assisted city trips.
  • Everyday kit fitted from the start: Carrier, mudguards, chain guard, front light and kickstand ready for the commute.
  • Shimano Nexus five-speed hub: Simple twist-grip changes, including while you're stopped in traffic.
  • Hydraulic discs and a 50 mm fork: Steady braking in traffic and a little suspension over rough urban roads.

Bikesy's Verdict

The Aruba Hybrid suits you if you want a comfortable step-through e-bike for commuting, errands and ordinary town trips, with the useful kit already fitted. The current 600 Easy Entry pairs Bosch Performance Line assistance at 75 Nm with a 600 Wh battery you can charge on or off the bike, plus a carrier, mudguards and a chain guard for the wet ride to work or the shops. This build's official UK suggested retail price is £2,499, and its motor is the Bosch BDU34. An earlier 600 can specify the BDU33, which is the distinction that matters when prices differ. Weight can change the recommendation: Cube quotes 27.7 to 27.9 kg across the finishes, not for every size, so lifting and storage deserve a proper look.

Pros

  • Easy Entry step-through and upright Comfort Ride Geometry for everyday mounting
  • Bosch Performance Line 75 Nm motor and a 600 Wh battery you can charge on or off the bike
  • Carrier, mudguards, chain guard, front light and kickstand fitted from the start
  • Nexus five-speed hub and hydraulic discs for stop-start town riding
  • Three finishes share one equipment build, so you choose colour and size

Cons

  • Published weights of 27.7 to 27.9 kg make lifting and storage a real consideration, and they are not an all-sizes figure
  • No approved trailer load is given
  • On the 42 cm size, a published 50-622 tyre designation conflicts with the 26-inch wheels, so replacements should follow the fitted tyre

The Aruba Hybrid is a retro-styled city e-bike for commuting, errands and the ordinary trips in between. What makes this one particular is easy step-through access, an upright comfort position and everyday fittings already on the bike, with Bosch assistance for the hills and the loaded days. The current UK model is the 600 Easy Entry. Three finishes share that one build, so you're choosing a colour and a size, with the same assistance and the same practical equipment on each.

Set up for the week ahead

The aluminium Superlite Easy Entry frame is built around getting on and off through the day. You step through, which suits frequent stops and ordinary clothes, and Comfort Ride Geometry sits you upright in traffic. The battery is integrated in the frame and the cables are routed internally, which keeps the retro lines relatively tidy.

The fittings that earn their place are the ones you'll use on a wet Tuesday. An ACID SIC 2.1 RILink carrier, limited to 25 kg, gives you a spot for a work bag or the shopping. Mudguards and a chain guard take care of wet roads and a long coat. A Trelock Bike-i Retro front light and a kickstand are fitted as well, so lighting and somewhere steady to leave the bike are already sorted. Compatible RILink bags or baskets can be added later. They are an upgrade, separate from the bike as sold, and they still have to stay within the carrier limit and the 140 kg total system weight.

Assistance for ordinary hills

The motor is a Bosch Performance Line, the BDU34, rated at 75 Nm. That torque is there to help you pull away from junctions and keep a loaded bike moving when the road rises. You run it from a Bosch Purion 200, with an integrated display on the bars.

The battery is a Bosch PowerTube 600, so 600 Wh, housed in the frame. Cube does not give a fixed-distance range for this bike, so the 600 Wh capacity is what you plan around, together with how much assist you use and what you carry. A Bosch 2 A charger is included, and the battery can be charged on the bike or taken off and charged indoors. Taking it inside helps when there's no socket where the bike lives.

In this name, 600 means that battery-capacity build on the single Easy Entry frame. The model-year 2027 specification uses the BDU34. An earlier 600 Easy Entry can specify a BDU33, including offers with a 2026 label, so the motor code and the equipment fitted to the bike are what separate the two. Cube warns that delivered components may change because of supply, which is why those fitted parts define the bike you buy. The official UK suggested retail price is £2,499. An asking price lines up with this build when the motor and the size match it.

Gears, brakes and rough tarmac

Gearing is a Shimano Nexus five-speed hub with a Revoshift grip. For town riding that is a comfortable, low-fuss choice. The gears sit in the rear hub, you twist to change, and you can pick a ratio while you're stopped at the lights. Five speeds, with the motor alongside, suit routine trips, and the chain guard is already there to keep clothes clear of the chain.

Brakes are Shimano BR-MT200 hydraulic discs with 180 mm rotors front and rear. That is a consistent setup for stop-start traffic and wet roads, including when the carrier is loaded. The fork is an SR Suntour NEX-E25 with 50 mm of travel, a comfort measure for patched tarmac and the rougher stretches of an everyday route.

Five sizes, and a smaller wheel on the 42 cm

The Easy Entry is published in 42, 46, 50, 54 and 58 cm, with geometry for every size. There is no height or inseam guide to sit alongside those sizes, so the geometry figures and the wheel format are the fit information you have.

The 42 cm frame runs 26-inch wheels and 160 mm cranks. From 46 cm to 58 cm the wheels are 28-inch and the cranks are 165 mm. It is the same 600 Easy Entry build, with the smallest frame on its own wheel format and a shorter crank, so treat the 42 cm as its own fit. A commonly published 50-622 tyre designation conflicts with that 26-inch split. A replacement tyre for the 42 cm should match the size marked on the tyre fitted to the bike.

What you can carry, and the weight you'll lift

Keep all three limits in mind at once. Rider weight, including worn equipment, is capped at 110 kg. The carrier is capped at 25 kg. Total system weight, bike included, must stay within 140 kg. Near the rider limit, the system cap can run out before the carrier is full.

The load table gives no approved trailer load, so towing is outside this specification.

Cube's product pages quote 27.7 to 27.9 kg across the three finishes. The load table uses 27.9 kg for a medium frame with the attached accessories included. Those figures describe the published examples, and they are not a weight for every size. At that sort of weight, stairs, a car rack or a tight storage space are worth thinking through if you'll be lifting the bike yourself.

Kept by the door, the 600 Easy Entry is set up for the trip you actually make. You step through, put a bag on the carrier, and the assistance is there for the ride home when the bike is loaded, with the wet-weather kit already doing its job.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Charge the battery off the bike: The included Bosch 2 A charger can top up the PowerTube on the bike or indoors, which helps when there's no socket where you store it.
  • RILink bags and baskets: Compatible accessories can extend the fitted carrier for shopping or a commute. They are an upgrade, bought separately, and must stay within the 25 kg carrier limit and the 140 kg system limit.
