Cube AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X TM
The Cube AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X TM is a carbon trail e-MTB with 140 mm of travel and a compact Bosch SX system, for riders who want climbing assistance and capable descending equipment in a lighter build.
- 140 mm at both ends: Matched trail travel for descents and the assisted climbs between them.
- C:68X carbon frame: A full-suspension trail chassis with less weight emphasis than a full-power, large-battery e-MTB.
- Bosch Performance SX: Compact climbing assistance, rated to a maximum of 60 Nm.
- 400 Wh CompactTube battery: On-board energy for assisted trail rides, sized around this lighter SX system.
- SRAM Maven Silver brakes: Hydraulic discs with a 200 mm front rotor and a 180 mm rear rotor.
- Claimed weight of 18.7 kg: A published complete-bike weight that backs up the lighter trail brief.

Bikesy's Verdict
The AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X TM suits an active trail rider who wants Bosch help on the climbs and a bike that is properly equipped for the way down. You get a C:68X carbon frame, 140 mm of Fox suspension at each end, Maven Silver brakes and GX Eagle AXS shifting, with a claimed 18.7 kg complete-bike weight and a Performance SX motor rated to 60 Nm maximum. The 400 Wh battery is fixed in the down tube, so the bike suits you if you can charge it where you keep it. An optional PowerMore 250 adds 250 Wh. It is a poor match if you need a removable main battery, a luggage carrier or a trailer, or if you exceed the 110 kg rider limit, including clothing and worn equipment.
Pros
- C:68X carbon frame with 140 mm at both ends for assisted trail climbs and descents
- Fox 36 Float Performance fork and Float X shock with a two-position lever
- Maven Silver brakes and Magic Mary / Nobby Nic trail tyres
- SRAM GX Eagle AXS Transmission with a 10-52T cassette
- Compact Bosch SX system and a claimed 18.7 kg complete-bike weight
Cons
- The 400 Wh battery is fixed in the down tube, so you charge the bike where you store it
- Cube excludes this carbon frame from ordinary carrier use and from its permitted trailer setups
- Rider limit is 110 kg including clothing and worn equipment
The Cube AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X TM is for you if you want a proper trail bike and a motor that earns its place on the climbs. It's the trail-focused TM specification in the AMS Hybrid ONE44 family: a C:68X carbon full-suspension frame with a compact Bosch SX system. Capable trail equipment and climbing assistance are the draw, in a build that puts less emphasis on weight than a full-power e-MTB with a large battery.
Trail riding, with help for the next climb
The intended use is lightweight, full-suspension electrically assisted trail riding. This TM build uses Cube's FSP four-link layout with 140 mm of rear travel, and a Fox 36 Float Performance GRIP fork at 140 mm. Travel matches at both ends, so the bike is set up for trail descents and for the assisted climbs that link them.
The tyres follow that brief. You get a Schwalbe Magic Mary at the front and a Nobby Nic at the rear, both 2.4-inch Super Trail Addix Soft, on Newmen Beskar Base 30 wheels. The wheels are tubeless-ready, and tubeless setup is not stated as fitted, so allow for valves and sealant if you want to run them without tubes.
Cube's UK product page claims 18.7 kg for the complete bike. The measurement size is not stated, so take 18.7 kg as the published figure for the build and keep your own frame size separate from that claim.
A compact motor, and a battery that stays in the frame
The motor is a Bosch Performance SX, specified at a maximum of 60 Nm, with Bosch System Control, a Mini Remote and a Bosch 4A charger. That 60 Nm is a maximum. It's climb assistance in a compact system, chosen for a lighter trail e-MTB.
The fitted battery is a Bosch CompactTube 400, 400 Wh, fixed inside the down tube. It's not removable through a frame access hatch, so you charge the bike where you keep it. A socket there makes the 4A charger a normal part of owning it. If the bike lives somewhere you can't plug in, this fixed battery is the reason to look at a different design.
Extra capacity is optional. The frame is ready for a Bosch PowerMore 250, which adds 250 Wh and isn't fitted as standard. It adds energy for the ride and leaves the main battery in the frame, so the place you charge stays the same. Cube publishes no distance for the 400 Wh battery or the PowerMore. Plan from the watt-hours and how heavily you use the motor.
Fox suspension, AXS gears and Maven brakes
The shock with the Fox 36 is a Fox Float X Performance, with adjustable low-speed rebound and a two-position lever. You can tune the rebound and switch the shock between its two positions as the trail changes.
Gears are SRAM GX Eagle AXS Transmission: electronic 1 × 12 shifting, an AXS Pod Ultimate controller and an XS-1275 10-52T cassette, with an ACID MTB Hybrid Pro 32T crankset. Shifts come from the pod on the bar, and the 10-52 cassette is a wide range for steep climbs while the motor is helping.
Brakes are SRAM Maven Silver hydraulic discs, with a 200 mm rotor at the front and a 180 mm rotor at the rear. On a 140 mm trail bike, that's substantial braking equipment for faster descents.
The headset is angle-adjustable by a Cube-stated 0.6°, using the specified inserts. The geometry table is one published position, and those inserts let you bias the bike a little towards stability or a little towards agility.
How S, M, L and XL differ
Cube publishes a geometry row for S, M, L and XL. Reach runs from 428 mm on the S to 500 mm on the XL, and stack from 617 mm to 653 mm, so the ends of the range are a genuinely different fit. There are no published rider-height or inseam bands, so use those rows against a bike you already know, or check the fit in person. They're geometry, not a height chart.
A handlebar-operated CUBE dropper, 31.6 mm, is fitted, and the stroke changes with frame size. Smaller sizes have less post travel, which means less saddle drop on descents. Post length and maximum insertion change too, so use the row for the size you're buying.
Limits sit apart from stature. Maximum rider weight is 110 kg including clothing and worn equipment, and maximum total system weight is 135 kg. Cube classifies the bike as category 4. Near 110 kg, the rider limit decides the bike on its own.
Matching the kit, and the crank recall
This current UK model is the 2026 TM 400X build, and it specifies SRAM Maven Silver brakes. An earlier TM test specifies Magura MT7 brakes, which is the practical way to separate that older specification from this one. A 2025 label, a 2027 label or a 2027 load-table entry does not by itself establish a different fitted build, so match the brakes and the rest of the kit. The earlier 55 Nm description of the SX motor came before an announced performance update, so torque alone is not proof of different motor hardware. Cube's published specification also permits supply-chain substitutions, so the equipment on the individual bike is the one that counts.
Buying a 2026 bike, including an ex-demo example, needs a crank check. Cube lists this model in its conditional ACID Carbon Hybrid crank-arm recall. Use Cube's frame-number check and establish whether any required authorised crank replacement has been completed. Do not ride an affected bike before that check and remedy.
Carrier and trailer use are out as well. Cube's FAQ excludes carbon-fibre bikes from ordinary luggage-carrier use and excludes full-carbon frames from its permitted trailer configurations.
Once the crank check is behind you and there's a socket where the bike lives, the point of the TM is easy to enjoy. The motor helps you back up, and the suspension, tyres and brakes are what you've bought for the way down.
