Bikesy's Verdict
The Kathmandu Hybrid C:62 SLT is the one to choose when you want Cube's light carbon tourer and you are happy paying for electronic XT shifting and carbon wheels. Both frames share the Bosch Performance SX motor and 400 Wh battery, at published weights of 16.2 kg for the Classic and 16.3 kg for the Easy Entry, and the official UK list price is £4,999 either way. That list price sits £1,000 above the C:62 SLX and is not a selling price. It is worth owning for commuting and longer rides on roads and moderate routes, provided you can charge the bike where you keep it. Needing a battery you can carry indoors, or Cube's approval for a child seat or trailer, would change that recommendation.
Pros
- C:62 carbon frame and rigid fork with mudguards, lights and a carrier fitted, at Cube's published 16.2 kg (Classic) or 16.3 kg (Easy Entry)
- Bosch Performance SX motor, maximum 60 Nm, and a 400 Wh battery in a compact system
- Electronic Shimano XT Di2 1×12 with a 10-51T cassette and a 38T chainring
- Carbon Newmen Phase 30 wheels and 50 mm Schwalbe G-ONE Overland tyres
- Classic high-top or Easy Entry low-step, with an adjustable stem on the Easy Entry
Cons
- The 400 Wh battery is fixed in the frame, so you charge the bike where you store it
- Rigid fork, so rougher surfaces get no suspension comfort
- Carbon frame and fork are not approved for a child trailer, and the SLT is not on Cube's child-seat list
The Kathmandu Hybrid C:62 SLT is for you if the commute and the longer day out are the riding you actually do, and you want that bike equipped without it being a heavy one. It is the top build of Cube's carbon touring platform, the Kathmandu Hybrid C:62 SLT 400X: a C:62 carbon frame, a rigid carbon fork and the carrying kit already fitted. Cube publishes 16.2 kg for the Classic and 16.3 kg for the Easy Entry. Roads and suitable moderate-effort routes are what it is for. The rigid fork is part of that light build, and rough trail use sits outside the design.
The current UK model is the 2027 specification. Classic and Easy Entry are two access frames of that same SLT build. An offer written as C62 is this model under a shorter spelling.
Compact assistance, and charging on the bike
Both frames share a Bosch Performance SX drive unit, rated at a maximum of 60 Nm, and a fixed-integrated Bosch CompactTube battery of 400 Wh. That pairing is how Cube keeps an equipped tourer near 16 kg, and it suits everyday journeys and longer rides when charging fits your routine. No fixed real-world mileage is stated, so 400 Wh is the capacity to plan around.
The battery lives in the frame and charges on the bike, using the supplied Bosch 4A charger. You need a socket where the bike is kept. For a longer tour, Cube lists an optional Bosch PowerMore 250 Wh range extender as a separate purchase. It adds capacity, and the main battery still stays in the frame.
Electronic shifting and the tyres fitted
Shifting is Shimano XT Di2, an electronic 1×12, with a 10-51T cassette and a 38T chainring. You change gear with a button, and the range covers a loaded climb and an easier gear on the flat. Shimano XT hydraulic discs with 180 mm rotors are fitted front and rear, for a bike with a carrier rated to 25 kg.
The wheels are Newmen Phase 30 carbon, fitted with Schwalbe G-ONE Overland 50-622 tyres. They are tubeless-ready and supplied with Aerothan inner tubes and ClikValve, so you ride them on tubes from the start. A tubeless conversion is possible later with a compatible setup. Cube's published maximum tyre width is 50 mm, so the tyres already fitted are at that limit.
Two frames, one SLT specification
Pick the frame by how you want to get on and off. The motor, battery, gears, brakes, wheels, mudguards, lights and carrier are shared. The official UK suggested retail price is £4,999 for each frame variant. That is a list price, and the price you pay can differ from it.
The Classic has a high top tube, in 50, 54, 58 and 62 cm, and a non-adjustable CUBE Performance Stem SLX. Its published weight is 16.2 kg, Cube's figure for a medium Classic including the fitted accessories. The Easy Entry has a low step, in 46, 50, 54 and 58 cm, an adjustable CUBE Comfort Stem Pro, and a published weight of 16.3 kg. Those two weights come from different references, so read each as its own published figure. Choose the Easy Entry if you want to alter bar height on the stem supplied.
Match the size to the frame you are buying. Reach and stack differ between Classic and Easy Entry, including at a shared 54 cm label, and a height band from another Kathmandu describes a different bike. The Easy Entry is also the frame that offers 46 cm.
Already set up to carry a bag
The rear carrier is fitted, an Integrated Carrier 3.0 with RILink HPP and a spring clamp, and the mudguards and powered lights are on the bike from the start. For the ride to work, the wet-weather kit and the luggage mount are already handled.
The load limits are separate, and they apply to both 2027 frames. Maximum carrier load is 25 kg. Maximum rider weight is 110 kg, including clothing and anything you wear. Maximum complete system weight is 135 kg. Those are three ceilings, and they are not added together.
A child seat or a child trailer sits outside what Cube allows on this bike. The carbon frame and fork rule out a child trailer under Cube's FAQ, and the SLT is absent from Cube's approved child-seat list. If either is essential, this is the wrong bike for that job.
Earlier SLT 400X offers
An older SLT 400X can share the name and the £4,999 official list price. The 2026 Classic page publishes 16.4 kg, while the 2027 Classic publishes 16.2 kg and the ACID MTB Hybrid Pro crankset. Treat a 2026 offer as that earlier specification, and match the frame variant and the components fitted to it. The year printed on an offer is not enough to tell these specifications apart. Cube also notes that supply-chain substitutions may change delivered equipment.
Specified 2026 Classic and Easy Entry SLT bikes with affected carbon crank arms, sold before 8 May 2026, are covered by Cube's recall. The frame number and the remedy status identify an affected bike. An affected bike must not be ridden until its crank arms have been professionally checked and replaced. This applies to those 2026 bikes, and it is separate from the 2027 specification.
On the rides it is made for, the SLT has a simple appeal: the kit is already fitted, the carbon frame holds the published weight near 16 kg, and the motor is there when the road rises.
Key Features & Benefits
- Optional Bosch PowerMore 250 Wh: Extra capacity for a longer tour, bought separately, while the 400 Wh battery stays fixed in the frame
- Three separate load limits: 25 kg on the carrier, 110 kg for the rider and 135 kg for the complete system, and those limits are not added together

Alternatives to Consider
The Cube Kathmandu Hybrid C:62 SLX is the same carbon, rigid-fork touring concept, with the same Bosch Performance SX motor and 400 Wh battery. Choosing the SLT brings electronic Shimano XT Di2 1×12 shifting, Shimano XT BR-M8220 brakes and carbon Newmen Phase 30 wheels. The SLX uses mechanical XT 1×12 shifting, BR-M8100 brakes and Newmen Beskar 30 wheels.
The published Classic reference weight is 16.2 kg on the SLT and 16.8 kg on the 2027 SLX Classic.
