Full-power assistance and a battery to match

Both the standard-frame 900 and the Wave version share the same Bosch Performance Line CX motor (BDU384Y), with UK product specifications quoting assistance up to the EU limit of 25km/h. What separates the 900 from the cheaper Aspect eRIDE 910 in Scott's range is capacity and control quality: the 900 carries an 800Wh removable PowerTube battery against the 910's 600Wh, charged through a 4A charger rather than the 910's 2A unit, so a flat battery comes back up to full more quickly at home. The 910 also uses a coil fork and SRAM NX/SX gearing with a simpler Intuvia 100 display, where the 900 fits an air-sprung SR Suntour XCR34X LOR fork with 120mm of travel and a remote lockout, Shimano Deore 12-speed shifting with a wide-range 10-51 cassette, and the fuller Kiox 300 display. None of that changes what kind of bike either is; it changes how much range and control you get for the extra spend on Scott's official list price.

Standard frame or Wave: picking your fit

Scott sells the 900 in two frame shapes at the same official UK price of £3,999. The standard frame runs XS to XL and takes its battery out from the side; it's built around a conventional top tube and weighs an approximate 26.7kg according to Scott's own figures. The Wave version drops the top tube for easier mounting and dismounting, runs S to XL, and removes its battery from the top rather than the side; that lower-step design adds weight, bringing Scott's approximate figure to 28.6kg. Neither is objectively better: it's a genuine choice between the fit and access you want, not a hierarchy of spec. Scott's own body-measurement fitting tool is the sensible way to match your height and reach to a specific size, since no separate height or inseam bands are published for this bike.

The Kiox 300, controls and living with it day to day

Both builds fit Bosch's Kiox 300 display, which shows the usual ride and battery data and can also present turn-by-turn navigation, provided you start the route through the eBike Flow smartphone app and keep it up to date. The two frames use different remotes to talk to it: the standard bike pairs a Bosch System Controller with a Mini Remote, while the Wave uses an LED Remote. Both have front and rear light cables already run through the frame, which is wiring provision only; neither bike arrives with lamps fitted, so if you're riding somewhere unlit, budget for adding compatible lights and get the fitting checked by a dealer. Worth noting too is the 130kg maximum system weight, which covers the bike, rider, kit and any luggage together rather than the rider alone; it's the figure to check against, not just your own weight, if you plan to carry much.

Watch for older listings before you buy

Because Scott has sold an Aspect eRIDE 900 before this current specification, you'll find older stock and secondhand listings, some labelled 2024, running different equipment: a 750Wh battery and Tektro HD-M745 brakes rather than the current bike's 800Wh battery and Shimano BR-MT420 brakes. A seller's year label alone won't tell you which one you're looking at, so it's the battery capacity and brake make that actually confirm you're buying the build described here.
