Orbea Rise H30

Orbea Rise H30

The Orbea Rise H30 is your gateway into Orbea's "Rider Synergy" all day adventures.

The aluminium framed H30's power, like its carbon siblings,  comes from an EP8 RS motor, developed in an exclusive collaboration between Shimano and Orbea.

Orbea re-engineered the motor's firmware to bring about the most efficient and naturally realistic power assistance possible. They've managed to eliminate the drag and power delay that’s typical of conventional e-bikes with this motor that's optimized to provide maximum assistance between 75 and 95 strokes per minute, replicating the power that you'd expect  at the cadence at which the human body pedals most efficiently and effectively. If you're the type of rider who would normally roll around all day on turbo boost, then this might not be the bike for you, but if you;'re a discerning stylish rider who wants a nimble mountain bike that can ride for further, then you're looking in the right place with the Orbea Rise H30

About the Orbea Rise H30

The two most distinguishing features of Rise are its natural pedalling and handling feel. Orbea's engineering team scrutinised every detail and invested many hours in development to maintain these characteristics in the aluminium versions.

Orbea rethought the distribution of the 21,700 cells and their set-up,  to find a battery that is as lightweight as possible, with one of the highest energy densities available in a mountain bike.

Orbea used its polishing process on the frame to give the new aluminium version the most attention possible. This technique smooths the welds at the tube joints, making them look like they belong on a carbon frame. In fact, distinguishing between an aluminium frame and a carbon frame is difficult. This process also improves the fatigue resistance of aluminium in critical areas.

Incidentally, Orbea chose the best materials and used the most advanced manufacturing processes for the frame, just as it does for its highest-level carbon frames. The team optimised the thickness and shapes of the tubes and reinforced the most delicate areas by using double and triple butted tubes, to save weight where it is unnecessary and add in stiffness where it is you really want it.

All of this design and development work has resulted in an aluminium frame weight of 3.4kg — just 100g more than an regular aluminium frame and 2kg lighter than the majority of aluminium e-bikes on the market. The new aluminium Rise weighs an impressive 19kg for the top-of-the-line model and 20kg for the entry-level model. If you're looking for an epic electric mountain bike at an affordable price, then this is it.
