Swifty Electric Mountain Bike

Removable Battery: Yes
Top Speed: 15.5mph
Rated Distance: Up to 30miles
Gears: 7
Brakes: Disc – Mechanical

This 7 speed full size electric mountain bike features a Panasonic 36V 9.6AH Lithium ion battery and powerful 250 watt electric motor giving you a top assist speed of 15mph and a range up to a solid 30 miles. An aluminium frame coupled with front suspension forks and knobbly off road tyres make any road or track accessible. Whether it will be put to use on a daily commute or used to make outdoor woodland and countryside exercise an absolute joy, this bike is capable of doing it all. The derailleur gears by Shimano and 3 levels of electric pedal assist will help get you to the top of the hills, and the mechanical disc brakes will keep you in control on the way back down.
While many electric bikes at this price point feature a front wheel drive electric motor, the Swifty Electric Mountain Bike has the benefit of a rear wheel e-bike motor. Why’s that a big deal you might ask? If you plan to ride off road you want the propulsion to come from the rear of the bike where your weight is, giving you better grip in muddy conditions.
Just a couple of years ago it would have been impossible to find an e-bike at this price point, let alone one with decent front suspension and disc brakes. One thing though… if you plan on locking this bike up for long periods outside, make sure you take off the removable battery and quick release seat post. An electric bike like this is going to attract attention.
What’s Great: Its a mountain bike, a proper electric mountain bike! For a price we wouldn’t have thought was possible up until very recently. Suspension forks and disc brakes are a winner at this price.
What’s Less Great: Being picky here but if you want to take this off road then you may well want tyres with a more aggressive tread pattern. Easily rectified as tyres are something that are easily upgraded and changed as they wear out as normal.

This unisex folding electric bike might look the same as the Swifty Liberte electric bike at first glance but it’s actually based on an entirely different frame. Swifty manage to further lower the price of their best selling Liberte by using their electric bike technology on a steel frame rather than an aluminium alloy model. Claiming a 36V 7ah battery to propel a 250watt motor this is the cheapest electric bike we’ve seen in stock anywhere, even cheaper than both the Liberte and also the always popular Assist from Halfords
What’s Great: The price! You’d be hard pushed to find an electric bike for less that this, especially one with gears, a removable battery and a folding frame.
What’s Less Great: If you can stretch to the extra £30 or £40 take a look at the Swifty Liberte model at the top of the page. The aluminum alloy frame will be preferable if you have to lift it up to put it in a car or carry it up stairs, with around a 4kg difference claimed in the total package weight.
