Bikesy's Verdict
The MiRiDER 20 is worth shortlisting and comparing current offers if you want a UK-assembled 20-inch folding e-bike that stores like a folder and rides with more stability than a 16-inch model. Larger wheels, the magnesium frame and the rear elastomer suspension make everyday streets and longer leisure rides more comfortable, while the silent 250W hub motor and single-speed KMC chain keep the bike easy to live with. Leave it if your hills are steep enough that you want gears, or if you often carry a bike on stairs or crowded trains: at a claimed 20 kg it is practical for a boot or motorhome, but heavier to lift than the MiRiDER 16.
Pros
- More stable than a 16-inch folding e-bike on rougher roads
- Simple single-speed drivetrain with a KMC anti-rust chain
- Folds to 920 x 520 x 720 mm for a boot or motorhome
- Silent hub motor with five assistance levels
- Adjustable rear elastomer suspension for lumpy streets
Cons
- More physical effort on steep hills than a geared bike
- Heavier to lift than the 17.3 kg MiRiDER 16, at a claimed 20 kg
The MiRiDER 20 is a UK-assembled folding e-bike with 20-inch wheels. It's for commuting, leisure riding and everyday trips when you still need to hide the bike in a hallway, car boot or motorhome. This standard version uses a magnesium alloy folding frame, a silent rear hub motor and a single-speed KMC anti-rust chain, so there's less to keep clean after a wet week.
Compared with the smaller MiRiDER 16, it has larger 20-inch wheels and a slightly longer wheelbase. That gives a smoother, more stable ride on rougher roads or longer journeys, and you still get a compact folding magnesium frame. In the range it sits above the 16-inch model and below the full-size 24-inch platform.
Comfort and braking
An integrated adjustable rear suspension elastomer takes the edge off lumpy streets. Tyres are MiR-T Original Road 20 x 2.125", with a delta guard and puncture fluid. Clarks HD-M3000 160mm 2-piston hydraulic discs do the stopping, with electric motor cut-outs so the hub motor cuts when you brake.
Single-speed drivetrain
This is the standard single-speed MiRiDER 20. The GB3 geared belt-drive and the Hope 20 are separate models with different drivetrains. Here the bike uses a KMC anti-rust chain, five levels of pedal assistance and a MiRiDER geared brushless silent rear hub motor (250W, 45Nm) to help on hills, so you're not looking after a derailleur.
Steeper climbs will still ask more of your legs than a geared folder would, because there's no lower gear to drop into.
Range, weight and storage
The removable, lockable battery is Samsung 18650 Lithium-Ion cells, 36V 7Ah / 252Wh. Maximum range is up to 45 miles (72 km), based on power level 1, average pace, rider weight and even terrain. A charge takes 2-3 hours.
Fully equipped weight is a claimed 20 kg, and it folds to 920 x 520 x 720 mm, which works in a car boot or motorhome. It's slightly heavier to lift than the 17.3 kg MiRiDER 16, so if you often carry a bike onto busy public transport, that extra weight is noticeable.
One size covers 152-195 cm, with an adjustable handlebar rake and folding stem, and a maximum recommended rider weight of 120 kg. The MiRiDER 20 is not part of the 2025 MiRiDER 24 stem recall.
